Fumehood
Description of DIY fumehood About 60 man hours
Inert fiberglass interior
Polycarbonate screen
Fumehood can be made out of wood, but wood can slowly warp over time. Would suggest a steel frame to reinforce and keep everything straight, as well as for mounting points.
Polycarbonate is relatively thermally stable and is shatterproof, wihch is great for safety
The inside is lined with glass fiber, which is fairly inert. The bottom is a glass surface, which is pretty good
The working area of the fumehood has a big "lip", to contain liquids inside the fumehood, as opposed to the fluids getting out
Electrical outlets for the mag stir plate Light switch Switch for extraction fan
Have mounting holes for stainless steel rods, so you hang glassware off them. Plus, it keeps the work surface clean :)
Cooling water in and out Compressed air vacuum inert gas (nitrogen)
Wood boxes with PVC linings are great for holding everything inside
